The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support Course is designed to prepare a variety of healthcare professionals to describe several life threatening emergencies and to provide CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
The American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course is designed to prepare a variety of healthcare professionals to identify several life threatening arrhythmias and to provide CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), defibrillation, advanced airway, first and second line medications during emergencies in a safe, timely and effective manner.
This classroom course teaches basic CPR skills such as performing a head tilt-chin lift and giving compressions and breaths. The course provides training for anyone who wants to learn basic CPR and obtain a Heartsaver course completion card.
Research indicates that the quality of CPR has a direct effect on patient outcomes from cardiac arrest and that many caregivers may not perform CPR according to the guidelines established by the American Heart Association (AHA).
An alternative to traditional, classroom-based ACLS training, HeartCodeâ„¢ ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program from the American Heart Association.
